Bourbon Negroni

"A Kentucky Cocktail with Italian Roots"

Traced to Count Camillo Negroni of Florence, the traditional Negroni is a bracing ruby-toned concoction of Campari, gin, and sweet vermouth. But with the swap of bourbon, it loses its trademark astringency, becoming a little warmer to the taste—more relaxed, more Southern.

2 oz. Left Bank bourbon

1 oz. sweet vermouth

2/4 oz. Campari

ice cubes

dash of orange bitters

orange twist

Combine ingredients and shake over ice. Strain into martini glass or coupe, and garnish with orange peel.
